Day three was a big day! Andy started the paddle from The Entrance this morning with the goal to reach Caves Beach. However the winds were working against us today and Darcy and I ended up picking Andy up from Norah Head to drop him off at Caves so that he could then paddle south again.
We were a little bit concerned about Andy being blown out to sea so Darcy contacted the VMR (Volunteer Marine Rescue) to let them know what was happening. The operator said that he wouldn’t recommend that he paddle today, but it was a bit late for that. So we kept in contact with them through out the day and Andy did make it back safely!
The rest of the day for us included catching up on some logistics and sleep! All in all it was a bit of a tedious day but we are looking forward to tomorrow when we will be land in Newcastle!
